Guitar is the one instruments that have the capability to sooth your soul with country and classical acoustic numbers and at the same time, it can also give you a surreal high with distortion driven, amplifier blaring hard rock and metal numbers that would blow you away. Its has been over a 100 years since rock established itself as the heart and soul of just about every teenager on this planet. Rock and guitars are like inseparable souls, both compliment each other, one with sound and the other with the genre.

When we talk of guitars, then how can we not talk about the men, because of whom this awesome musical instrument is able to brings such melody for the world to enjoy. Hence, here at ‘Hottest of All’ we decided to write about three of the world’s most famous and hottest guitarists, who deserve to be on this list. Once again, we have been absolutely unbiased with this list too and have chose these legends on the basis of their skills, their fan following and their contribution to the music world. These three legends are Nuno Bettencourt, Joe Satriani and Slash.

Nuno Bettencourt:

Born September 20, 1966, Nuno Bettencourt is considered to be one of the best funk metal guitarists in the world. Some of his most popular songs that have taken the wold by storm are,”More Than Words”, “Hole Hearted”, “Cupid’s Dead” and “Little Jack Horny”. Nuno has been best known for his association with the American rock band, Extreme and for his unique and incredible guitar playing techniques. Although, Nuno Bettencourt relies heavily on the playing styles of heavy metals, still due to incredible fusion that he is able to bring out heavy metal and funk, he is known as the demi-god of both the genres.

Nuno Bettencourt rose to fame and glory with Extreme’s most critically acclaimed album, Pornograffitti (1990) that is still considered to be one of the crowning moments of his life. Nuno also released solo project called Schizophonic, that saw a different side of him that his fans weren’t accustomed to and hence, the album did not do so well sales wise. In the year 2008, Nuno along with the newly reformed Extreme, released their latest album Saudades de Rock, that has been widely accepted by the music world and is turning heads all over the rock domain.

Joe Satriani:

Born July 15, 1956 in Westbury, New York, Joe Satriani is one of the few guitarists whose guitar playing has never been questioned or criticized. Joe Satriani had been influenced by rock music at a very early stage in life and he had admired the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck. Satriani’s popularity gave him the opportunity to perform alongside legends such as Steve Vai, John Petrucci, Eric Johnson, Yngwie Malmsteen, Patrick Rondat, Andy Timmons, Paul Gilbert via the coveted annual event called “G3″.

Satriani has always been known to be the most technically sound player among all other guitarists in his league. He began playing guitar at the age of 14 and has mastered some of the most difficult guitar techniques such as Legato, two-handed tapping and arpeggio tapping, sweep-picking, volume swells, harmonics, and extreme whammy bar effects. Since 1986, Joe Satriani has release 12 solo albums and has become an icon, even to the level, where numerous guitarists take him as their greatest inspiration in life. Well, what can we say about the man, who single handedly brought the glory back to Rock ‘n’ Roll in an era when this genre seemed to fade away with time. Born on July 23, 1965, Saul Hudson or only known as “Slash is the God of Rock ‘n Roll” and his persona will eternally be intertwined with his smash it rock band Guns n’ Roses. Currently, Slash is playing with “Velvet Revolver” that includes all the former band members of Guns n’ Roses except the vocalist, Axl Rose.

Looking back at his childhood days, about the time when he picked up his guitar, Slash says, “My big awakening happened when I was fourteen. I’d been trying to get into this older girl’s pants for a while, and she finally let me come over to her house. We hung out, smoked some pot and listened to Aerosmith’s Rocks. It hit me like a fucking ton of bricks . I sat there listening to it over and over, and totally blew off this girl. I remember riding my bike back to my grandma’s house knowing that my life had changed. Now I identified with something.”

The two world renowned songs from Guns n’ Roses, “Sweet Child o’ Mine” and “November Rain” saw the talent that Slash had to offer and the solos of both these songs propelled him to place of glory, only few guitarists can lay claim to. At Hottest of All, we have a couple of hardcore dedicated rockers that live, eat and sleep Rock music. Hence, we decided to do something to their pleasure and came up with the three of hottest rock singers in the world. This list isn’t compiled only on the basis of their looks, but also taking into account their success, the contribution to their band and the cult following that each of these men have garnered over the years. Axl Rose:

Born on February 6, 1962, W. Axl Rose is considered to be a legend in the world of Rock ‘n’ Roll. He has been the front man of the Rock ‘n’ Roll band “Gun N’ Roses” and with it has reached to millions of fans around the world, with his captivating voice and immensely meaningful lyrics. After the break up of the band in the early 1990s, Axl Rose resurfaced in the year 2001 with an entirely new line-up ad retained the name, “Gun N’ Roses.”

Even after the split of Guns ‘n’ Roses, Axl Rose is still known to be one of hard rock’s all-time greatest front-men. Reflecting back on his childhood day, Axl Rose says, “My particular church was filled with self-righteous hypocrites who were child abusers and child molesters. These were people who’d been damaged in their own childhoods and in their lives. These were people who were finding God but still living with their damage and inflicting it upon their children. I had to go to church anywhere from three to eight times a week. l even taught Bible school while l was being beaten and my sister was being molested.”

Gary Cherone:

Born on July 26, 1961, Gary Cherone is currently the front-man of the American rock band “Extreme” and has also been widely acclaimed for his small stint with Eddie Van Halen for his album “Van Halen III.” In his teenage years, Gary was inspired and heavily influenced by vocalists, such as the likes of Roger Daltrey, Steven Tyler, Freddie Mercury.

In the year, Gary Cherone and his drummer friend Paul Geary formed the band “Extreme,” along with bassist Pat Badger and also got Nuno Bettencourt on board, who is known as one of the greatest guitarists in the world. With Extreme, Gary was able to put his vocal talents to its best and gathered quite a fan following. Later in his career, in the year 1996, Gary went on to join Van Halen. Due to his vast popularity that he had garnered being the vocalist for Extreme, Van Halen hired him as the band’s vocalist. Even without much commercial success, while being in Eddie Van Halen’s band, he did manage to gather a lot of appreciation, due to his vocal talents, that rejuvenated a lot of old Van Halen songs. One of the most peculiar characteristic of Gary Cherone’s voice is its similarity with Axl Rose.

David Draiman:

Born on March 13, 1973, David Draiman is a vocalist of the hard rock band “Disturbed”. Hailed as one of the most versatile and popular singers in the hard rock and metal genre, David has also worked on various side projects such as the “Queen of the Damned soundtrack,” alongside vocalists such as the likes of Jonathan Davis (Korn), Wayne Static (Static-X), Jay Gordon (Orgy), Chester Bennington (Linkin Park) and with alternative metal band Marilyn Manson.

Alongside Disturbed, David Draiman has reached out to a lot of fans and has sort of a cult following. With their latest album, “Indestructible” (2008), David tried to spread awareness about the crisis of increased suicide rate, through their song ‘Inside the Fire’. David had to face this bitter phase of life, when a former girlfriend of his committed suicide. This left David scarred for years to come, but with sheer will power, he managed to overcome his anguish.

However, his musical career has been a soaring eagle, ever since he joined Disturbed. In the year 2006, he was named as “Heavy Metal’s All-Time Top 100 Vocalists” by the American music magazine, “Hit Parader”.

Amy Winehouse Death Watch

Not too long ago Amy Winehouse could have passed for Hot in many circles. But she takes the Ol’ super model Heroine Chic look to a new level. Before you jump all over me and send me nasty messages I have a disclaimer.

“It is not my fault Amy Winehouse is a cracked out freak. Please direct your anger to the crack and the crack dealers who sell her the junk, along with any enablers who support her reckless lifestyle”

It is apparent that her crack, chain smoking, and other bad habits have caused her serious health problems. Who wants to hear Amy Winehouse sing Rehab with a Susan Estrich like smokers voice? With emphysema and 70% or less lung capacity, undoubtedly her career has come to a screeching halt.

With that said I have started an Amy Winehouse death watch poll. No I don’t want her to die, she is extremly talented and is throwing it all away. But just like the “Reality Show” Intervention, sometimes there is nothing you can do but cut the ties and let them go. So all of you fans out there should just dump her and leave her. Your support and monetary contributions (Album Sales) are only delaying the inevitable and enabling her bad behavior.

Is it taboo for a young teen like Miley Cyrus to be considered HOT? Young girls are looking older earlier than ever before, but being cute and Hot are two different things. I am not surprised that young boys would consider Miley Hot but for adults to do so may be treading on dangerous water.

The recent photos of Miley Cyrus in her underwear and bra were a shock to many of her fans and to the parents of fans as well. One thing was clear in those photos, Miley was trying real hard to be hot. She was doing her best to pout her lips like a Victoria’s Secret Model. Miley is just too young to be hot, being Hot is something you have. You can’t pretend to be hot when you just don’t have it. Especially when you are only fifteen years old! Give her three or four years and maybe she can be Hot, or not. Hopefully she does not turn into a train wreck like most young Hollywood stars.
